Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. This policy explains how cancellations and fees work for our remote notarization and apostille services. Cancellations made at least 3 hours before your appointment incur no penalty. A $75 cancellation fee applies — no exceptions — for any cancellation, no-show, redraw of documents, signer-side technical issue, or session that cannot be completed in the selected time, for any reason that is not the notary's fault.

1. Cancellation window

You may cancel your session without penalty provided you notify us at least 3 hours before your scheduled appointment time. To cancel, email scheduling@clickfornotary.com with your name and booking details.

2. $75 cancellation fee — applies for any reason that is not the notary's fault

Cancellations made less than 3 hours before the scheduled appointment time, or sessions that cannot be completed for any reason that is not the notary's fault, are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. This fee applies in all cases — no exceptions — to cover reserved notary time and platform costs.

The $75 fee applies to, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Cancellation for any reason — cancelling or rescheduling within the 3-hour window, for any cause.
  • Redraw of documents — documents that must be redrawn, corrected, or re-executed after the session has begun because the originals were incomplete, incorrect, or not ready.
  • Technical issues on the signer's side — a signer's unstable internet connection, non-working camera or microphone, unsupported device, or failure to complete identity verification due to the signer's setup.
  • No-shows — failing to appear for a scheduled session without cancelling within the 3-hour window.
  • Session not completed in the selected time — a session that cannot be finished within the duration you booked (for example, a 30-minute slot that runs over because there were more documents or signers than the time allows).

3. When the fee does not apply

The $75 fee does not apply when a session cannot be completed due to a fault on our side or the notarization platform's side (for example, a platform outage or a notary error). In those cases, we will reschedule at no charge or issue a full refund.

4. Failed identity verification

If a session cannot proceed because a signer fails KBA or biometric identity verification, you may reschedule once at no additional charge. Repeated verification failures may require additional review before a new session can be booked.

5. Signer responsibilities

Signers are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and a valid government-issued ID before the session begins. Failure to meet these requirements that prevents the session from completing is considered a signer-side issue and is subject to the $75 fee.

6. Apostille services

Once a document has been submitted to the state authority for apostille certification, the process cannot be reversed and associated government fees are non-refundable. Cancellations prior to submission are eligible for a refund of service fees, less any work already completed.

7. Refund processing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days. The timing of the credit appearing on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer.

8. Cancellation by Click for Notary

If we must cancel or reschedule a session for any reason, you will be notified as early as possible and offered an alternative time at no charge, or a full refund if you prefer.

9. How to cancel

To cancel, email scheduling@clickfornotary.com with your name and booking details. Verbal cancellations cannot be accepted.
